The Polymark System
The core technology at the heart of the system is thin multi-layer film polymer material that has security properties and which can be applied to a label, a tag or directly to an object. Much like a snowflake, this special polymer film/layer has a unique spectral image when examined under reflected light, so UNIQUENESS is the first security property. Also like a snowflake, the production of this special polymer film involves a random physical process of crystal establishment across the layers of the polymer, so NONCLONABLE is the second security property. Finally, the polymer layer is quite thin and produces a highly unique spectral image within a small surface area. So, SMALL and not intrusive is the third key feature of this special polymer film. Thus, a UNIQUE, NONCLONABLE and SMALL special polymer layer for use in identification, authentication and provenance of physical objects is the core technology forming the basis for Polymark. The Polymark System consists of three elements: Endpoint Polymark (e.g. film, tag, label), Reader, and Security System.

Object with Polymark ID
The "polymark" term is used like "barcode" or "QR" code to mean a secure polymer film that can be embodied as a tag or label in many different form-factors based upon the application use case. As well this may be the secure polymer film incorporated into a product directly (e.g. as a panel or dot in an identity or access card).

Reader
This is a device used to capture the spectral data from a polymark endpoint and to deliver this to the software security system. A variety of different readers are envisioned based upon consumer, retail, supply chain, industrial or government applications.

Identity Cloud System
This is a cloud based software system delivered to customers and partners as a service providing for enrollment, binding, authentication, verification and other data exchange functions. This system then works in conjunction with inventory, supply systems already in used by our our customers and partners.
